Murphy, Lolly

Social Worker/WIHD

Lolly has been with the Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) for over 10 years in the child welfare program as a therapist. She is an exceptional clinician with incredible expertise in play therapy. During her time at WIHD, she has taken on children (ages 2 and up) with significant trauma histories and mental health needs. She has the ability to connect with and develop trusting relationships with children who have had extreme difficulty with this in the past. Furthermore, she has been able to assist these children in improving their social/emotional health and wellness. She also makes herself available as a resource to foster parents to help them understand the impact of trauma on childhood development/behavior and to provide parenting support/strategies. During the pandemic, she has gone above and beyond in terms of engaging children remotely and working with families collaboratively. We at WIHD feel so fortunate to have the ability to work with someone with her extraordinary abilities.
