When an adult makes a child feel safe and secure in different situations the result is magic! Helping a child regulate their emotions, allowing a safe space for them to express feelings and an ability to model behavior is something that enables a child to thrive in the most challenging situations. Through the pages of this coloring book, we share ways every day bright lights create magic in the world of children.

The coloring book content is being developed with the support of child development experts and is illustrated by artist Lisa Marie Lyckland (fleetwood.studio), whose simple, yet genuine style has made her a popular commissioned artist for capturing everyday life. It will be distributed to 1,000 young children in childcare centers, preschools, healthcare clinics, hospitals, and home visit settings in New York State this fall.  A PDF version will also be available on the NYS-AIMH website.

We can’t do this without sponsors, and we feel connected to the role you play in supporting young children and their families in New York State. We are seeking donations to help support the PROJECT: BRIGHT LIGHTS coloring book: “EVERYDAY MAGIC.” Additional funds raised will be used to directly support ongoing NYS-AIMH program development and training for specialists working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their parents.

Will you join us? The sponsor levels available for your consideration are listed in the link above. We appreciate you and hope to partner with you on this valuable effort. Please contact us with any questions at reachus@nysaimh.org.
