Training Recording: Granting Permission – Working Together to Embrace Grief

with Rennie Bimman, MSW

June 3, 2026 (Recorded on Zoom)

This reflective, interactive seAs early childhood professionals, we hold so much space for the families we serve. Every day, we witness the quiet impacts of loss on young children and their caregivers, whether it’s the profound weight of a perinatal loss, or the “invisible” grief that comes with major life transitions like divorce, job loss, or moving.

To support grieving individuals in this vital work, we are hosting the upcoming training: Granting Permission for Grief.

This session is designed specifically for our early childhood network to help us:

  • Spot the signs of grief: Recognize how different types of loss show up in early childhood settings
  • See the “invisible” losses: Support children and families navigating non-death losses and major life transitions.
  • Support the entire family circle: Learn to honor everyone’s unique pain, including siblings or extended family members who are often overlooked.
  • Care for yourself and your team: Acknowledge the emotional toll of this work and build a supportive environment for your colleagues.

Rennie Bimman, MSW, is completing her Doctor of Philosophy – PhD in Social Work at McGill University. She is studying the intergenerational impact of pregnancy and infant loss under the supervision of Dr. Tamara Sussman. Ms. Bimman has published research in the Journal of Social Work in End-of-Life & Palliative Care. She currently works at Montreal Children’s Hospital with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals and artificial intelligence experts designing an educational platform for learning clinicians to build Serious Illness Communication skills.
