Marianne Reid Schrom, MBA, CAE, joins NYS-AIMH with a diverse background in education, leadership development, advocacy, and association management.  

Marianne’s career began as a high school business and career development teacher and adjunct college professor. After profound loss, turning her grief into action, Marianne worked for ten years with a statewide association promoting member engagement, disaster management, public affairs and advocacy. Marianne earned the designation of Certified Association Executive (CAE) from the American Society of Association Executives in 2016. 

Marianne led the Capital Region NY Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) as Board Chair and Coordinator of Survivor Programs before serving on the Foundation’s national Development Committee and National Loss and Healing Council. Marianne has been recognized for her grassroots advocacy and education/awareness efforts on the local, state, and national level and is a nationally-recognized leader for bereavement support.
