Please join us either Wednesday, October 28th, or Friday, October 30th, and Wednesday, December 9th, for a day and a follow-up meeting devoted to supporting reflective practice in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health practice – something we call
Reflective Supervision/Consultation (RS/C).
We’ll spend time with fantastic presenters, Kenya Malcolm, Ph.D., Sarah Fitzgibbons, LMHC, MT-BC, IMH-E®, and Joaniko Kohchi, MPhil, LCSW, IMH-E Clinical Mentor.
We’ll share small group work sessions
and observe RS/C in real time, and have an introduction to a tool called RIOS: The Reflective Interaction Observation Scale, which helps define and identify the essential elements of RS/C.
A total of 6 hours of CEUs will be provided by SPCC who is an approved NYS CEU provider, for the fields of social work (LMSW/LCSW), mental health counseling (LMHC), and creative arts therapy (LCAT). When you register please indicate your professional license. Attendance at the full day symposium is required for CEUs to be awarded
*Note: This is a One-Day + event! NYS-AIMH is offering two optional dates to attend. The program will be presented 10/28/20, and the same program will be repeated 10/30/20; then all are invited to a F/U meeting 12/9/20 – all in Zoom!

Introducing our Presenters!
Kenya Malcolm, PhD, is a licensed psychologist who has been working with Rochester’s young people for 10 years. She graduated from the University of Arkansas and came to Rochester as a postdoctoral fellow. She spent five years as a classroom behavioral health consultant in Head Start and Early Head Start, and spent several years in private practice with a special interest in young children who were court- involved due to family conflict.
Three years ago, Dr. Malcolm was part of The Society for the Protection and Care of Children (SPCC) in Rochester, NY’s first Reflective Supervision Learning Collaborative. She is excited to be project lead for improving integrated services for 0-3 in the University of Rochester Pediatric Practice, as part of the recent SAMHSA Launch grant. Sarah Fitzgibbons, LMHC, MT-BC, IMH-E®, has spent the past 20 years practicing, researching, supervising, teaching and developing programs in the field of Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health, with a specific expertise in infants and young children impacted by trauma, loss, attachment disruptions, child welfare, and parent-child relationship assessments. Sarah currently works as the Vice President of Programs and Practices at The Society for the Protection and Care of Children (SPCC) in Rochester, NY where she oversees six IECMH embedded, multidisciplinary programs. With Sarah’s leadership, SPCC has been strategically working to advance IECMH competencies, and increase cross-sector policies and practices locally and state-wide. Sarah is an instructor of Infant Mental Health and Reflective Practice/Supervision coursework at The Warner School of Education (University of Rochester), is Co-President of the Board of Directors of NYS-AIMH, and actively works with local, state and national IECMH leaders to advance the field, ensure fidelity, change policy, and increase capacity through initiatives and collaborative efforts. Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy, and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Naropa University, and completed post-master’s training in Infant Mental Health through the University of Colorado (The Kempe Center). Above all other educational experiences, Sarah has been most deeply challenged, enriched and inspired in her work as a mother and daughter. Sarah can be reached at sfitzgibbons@spcc-roch.org
Joaniko Kohchi, MPhil, LCSW, IMH-E Clinical Mentor, is the Director of the Institute for Parenting, the Infant Mental Health and Developmental Practice master’s degree, and the Postgraduate Program in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, all at Adelphi University, where she enjoys teaching and supervising graduate and postgraduate candidates as well as the Institute’s clinicians. She is an Endorsed Infant Mental Health Mentor with both clinical and academic experience spanning several regions of the United States. Ms. Kohchi holds two master’s degrees in literature and narrative analysis, a Master of Social Work, and a certificate in Infant Mental Health from LSU School of Medicine. Her clinical work focuses on children, families, and adults who have survived traumatic events often leading to out-of-home care and court involvement. She is a trainer for the Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood (DC:0-5), Child-Parent Psychotherapy, and is working towards becoming a facilitator for the Diversity Informed Tenets for Work with Infants, Children and Families.

Cancelation Policy
No refund can be made for cancellation seven or fewer working days before the event or for no-shows. Cancellations more than seven working days before a workshop will result in a refund, less a $15.00 cancellation fee. Requests for refunds must be received in writing.
All registered participants will be notified via email if there is a training/workshop cancellation. Registered participants will be offered a full refund or registration in another offered training/workshop.
