More than Calories In and Calories Out: Promoting Health in the First Years and Before

Keynote Presenter:  

Joshua Sparrow, MD, DFAACAP 


Joshua Sparrow, M.D., DFAACAP, is director of the Brazelton Touchpoints Center in the Division of Development of Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, where he holds appointments in Developmental Medicine and Psychiatry. He is a principal investigator for the National Center for Parent, Family and Community Engagement (Office of Head Start, Office of Child Care, ACF, HHS), and part time associate professor in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He has lectured extensively, nationally and internationally, has written numerous scholarly papers, and is the co-author with Dr. T. Berry Brazelton of 9 books including Touchpoints: Birth to Three, Touchpoints: Three to Six, and Feeding Your Child the Brazelton Way.

Afternoon Presenters:

Monica Belyea, MPH, RD Program Planner for Opportunity Knocks for Middletown’s Young Children Community Collaborative, with Middlesex Hospital and the Baby Behavior Trainer for The Center for Public Health and Health Policy at UCONN Health Center 

    

Charlie Slaughter, MPH, RD Primary Prevention Services Coordinator, with a focus on early childhood for the Department of Children and Families, 2013 Circle of Security International Award Winner,   CT-AIMH 2015 Jane C. Bourns Award Winner, and author of Hungry for Love: Creating a Mealtime Environment that Builds Connection, Life Skills, and Eating Capabilities.

Anticipated Audience: 

Social workers, early interventionists, home visitors, early child care providers, clinicians, pediatricians, nurses, health professionals, child welfare, etc…

  • In order for you to take advantage of the Member Rate to attend the Conference, you must be a CURRENT 2016 CT-AIMH Member or a current NYS-AIMH Member. When NYS-AIMH members register online please register as a current CT-AIMH member and then send an email to reachus@nysaimh.org so that a verification email can be sent to CT-AIMH of your membership status.
  •  Payment  for the conference must be received on or before Nov. 10, 2016, unless arranged ahead of time with Heidi.      
  • Sorry, no refunds will be able to be issued after Nov. 1, 2016.
